Following “altar” back in September 2021, Kehlani returns with “little story”—the second single from their upcoming third album, Blue Water Road. Accompanied by electric guitar and violin, the track shows a vulnerable Kehlani turning the page on love. Additionally, they commented in an Instagram story:

What can I say… a true little story. A song I really care about. A video I really care about. Enjoy it, it’s an honor to share it.

The black-and-white accompanying music video—co-directed by Kehlani and Alexandra Thurmond—follows the carefree singer as they ask a former lover to be part of their story again. In the end, it is their 2-year-old daughter, Adeya, who joins them.
